What the paper keeps on its readers, and what it does not.
What is kept
The email address and byline name you supply, your date of birth, your interviews and the file each reporter holds on you, and a record of any subscription. No payment card is requested, ever.
What it is for
Keeping the interviews running, letting a reporter pick up where you left off, keeping the site safe and confirming payment. Filters read messages against the style guide. Your talk is never sold and never shown to advertisers.
Your say
You may read or change the file a reporter keeps, clear an interview, export it, or have the whole account removed; write to the tip line to ask.
Cookies
One cookie carries your session, and some preferences stay on your device. Nothing tracks you between sites. Old interviews remain while the account does, and payment records stay only as long as the law demands.
